There was a time when hosting and internet providers told us that it would be nice to have e.g. www.surnamegivenname.tld as a name for our personal websites. Worse is that I believed them for a while. I thought people would like it to find me using markuswichmann.de as the domain name. Maybe they liked it. But: m2w2.de is shorter by far, it is less self-centric, and it reminds me of websites of beings that I happen to like, as for example Douglas Adams or a cute little Droid called R2-D2. By the way the exponent notation of the "2"-digits doesn't mean anything though. At least not up to now.
